GUEST POST: My Awesome Experience At The Lagos City of Friends Concert

By Bobola Johnson

Lights, Camera, Action. Welcome to the chronicle of what came to become one of the best experiences I have had in a very long time, inspired by day 2 of the 2- day “33” City of Friends Concert.

Getting lost in an atmosphere filled with love, excitement and euphoria is basically what you get when “33” Export Lager Beer lays the foundation for an event centred on friendship.

From the moment I and my friends walked into Eagles Club, Surulere, we could not explain the smiles on our faces, maybe it was seeing groups of good-looking folks or the larger than life posters of the artists that were to perform, all in all, It was a warm welcome and you better believe we took advantage of everything the event had to offer. The ‘newcomers’ were told that they had to get drinks to get game and raffle tickets to play the games that were made available for our PLEASURE and to get a chance to win awesome prizes, the general response was ’drinks, games and a raffle draw? Please don’t mind if I do’.

My Friends I 33 City Of Friends

Yours truly went for the free throw game instinctively, and not to brag but I knocked down 5 of 6 free throws, no need to applaud, I had fun doing it. I and my friends then moved on to the PS4 section where we wished we could spend the whole day but there was more fun to be had. So subsequently more drinks to get and more tickets to get, and did I mention that the ladies handing out the tickets were really pretty, like really pretty. Maybe I had a stimulating chat with one of them and might text here later, that’s for the affected parties to know.

DJ Big N was on the ground, making things bump as usual and Gordons was on ground with his hilarious jokes as usual. The stage was getting red hot for the live performances and then the winners of the raffle draw and writing competition were announced and given their prizes, “33” Export Lager Beer really went all out.

There were a lot upcoming artists who performed live, all of whom brought their A game, but they were only the warm-up for the main ‘men’ Pasuma and Phyno and the sexy songstress ‘Simi’. The lovely Simi hit the stage and soulful melodies filled the venue if you have not experienced Simi sing live, oh well, put on your to-do list, enough said.

‘Scatter ground’ is a term we use too loosely in Nigeria because if you actually experience the scattering of the ground, you will need a few moments to recover. This is exactly what Pasuma did when he entered the building, his fans were in full voice and it was truly something to behold, my friends and I could not help but watch in amazement.

Phyno was on ground as the final act of the “33” City of Friends Concert, and one word to describe the experience was monstrous. The number 1 Alobam had all of us vibing and feeling wavy, as he performed. From me to you, I LOVE PHYNO.

As I sign off, all I want to say is that I want to be a part of any and every initiative “33” Export Lager Beer comes up with from now on. The “33” City of Friends Concert was an experience of a lifetime.
